The face plate is white acrylic while the back and rim is milled solid birch. KPB Architects designed the building.

I was proud of the evacuation sign, as well. This is printed on aluminum. Cleverly, I made the "You Are Here" symbol the logo of KPB Architects, who designed the building.

Alaska Native Medical Center - Patient Housing Signage
Built on the northern edge of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium Alaska Native Medical Center, Patient Housing (by KPB Architects) is a facility for patients family to stay in while visiting the hospital. ANMC is in Anchorage, Alaska, and serves all Alaska Natives. Because of all the different and unique cultures of the patients, ANMC is as respectful and accommodating as possible. As an employee at KPB Architects, I conceived the signs, not only as way-finding devices but as symbols of the uniting element all Alaska Natives share, the drum. The drum is an important part of their cultures and ceremonies, and I designed the signs to complement their rich traditions.
